An University Research Team (INCITI-UFPE) responsible to develop a metropolitan public park along the river Capibaribe put in practice a 3 steps process to activate one of the sections: The Capunga area
Step 01 Capunga Residence:
One event of 3 day, 30 students from different disciplines, 6 sessions of Workshop, 6 Public presentations and debates with a panel of key stakeholders.
Objectives: qualitative diagnosis to identify activators, conflicts and potentials of the territory.
Step 02 Workshops for collective involvement:
21 events of 1 day during 4 months, with about 20 Participants (Students, Professors, Street Vendors, Inhabitant, ONG) each, 5 Producers-Researchers
Objectives: realise a participatory action research with the activators to develop an urban improvement project. http://tinyurl.com/jekr6zv
Step 03 International Workshop of Urban Prototyping:
400 meters of riverbanks occupied by parking and dump beside an university, an hospital and a residential area. 35 Street Vendors, 20 university technicians, 20 public service technicians, 60 students, 15 DIY Designers and 5 producers to transformed in 14 days this space into the best place to eat, to chill and to play by the Capibaribe riverside.
Objectives: Prototype and test a collective vision, engage more actors, train participants to urban action research, aliment the on going design project of the Parque Capibaribe. http://tinyurl.com/zk6lyfm
